About Our Program

by Kathy Bishop

Our Goal:

Grayville's Pre-K program was established in 1988. It is completely funded through grants that are administered by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Our philosophy is simple: We believe that young children are like sponges. They absorb information from the world around them by touching, feeling, and manipulating the objects that are a part of it. By providing the children of our community with abundant opportunities to positively interact with other children and adults, we are assisting them with the development of cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual skills that are essential in the development of well rounded individuals.

About Us:

~Kathy Bishop, the classroom teacher, has been with our program since its establishment in 1988. She has a degree in Elementary education and holds teaching certificates in both elementary and early childhood education.
~Franny Tribe has been working in our program for over 21 years. She has been trained in developmentally appropriate practice and can even drive a bus! Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Tribe are good friends.
