GHS CAST CHOSEN FOR SPRING PRODUCTION “THE DEARLY UNDEPARTED”

 

A comedic stage romp will be presented in March by the Grayville High School drama club.

 

The Bison thespians will trod the boards of the Wabash Theater in The Dearly Undeparted a three-act farce penned by Michael Soetaert.

 

The show goes on Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23, at 7:00 p.m. both nights in the historic Wabash Theater in downtown Grayville.

 

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.  Tickets will be available at the GHS office the week of the play and can also be purchased at the door the nights of the show.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

 

Directed by Levi Johnson, Assistant Director, Marc Stendeback, and Assistant to the Assistant Director, Sidney Foster.  To quote from The Dearly Undeparted setting the play takes place “in the front room of a home.  Not on your block, mind you, but the next one over.”

 

To quote from the plays synopsis: “It’s just an innocent omission, a little white lie; it’s for her own good anyway.  When grandma refused to move to a nursing home to make room for her greedy relatives, they hold a fake séance so grandpa will tell her she should leave right away.  But what would happen if the séance actually worked, and a stranger came over from the other side and liked it so much he never wanted to leave!?”

 

Cast members include:  Carsyn Robinson (Pearl Hedgepath – sweet, loopy mid 80s widowed housewife), Tanner Daniel (Lyle Wanamaker – Pearl’s grandson), Nolen Funkhouser (Uncle Vern Pootsky – Pearl’s only son), Avri Cherry (Chip Furbitz – Uncle Vern’s lawyer), Tory Rose (Allison Beedle - Realtor), Madelyn Cunningham (Ace Bandage – one of the séance guys), Jaleen Koons (Floyd – the other séance guy), Macy Stockton (Ooga – fortune teller), Garrett McCully (Louie Chedarwax – the dead guy), Olivia Knight (Ilene Chedarwax – Louie’s wife), Payton Howard (Raymond Chedarwax – Louie’s oldest son), Emily Cowling (Anson Horselwitz – stereotypical undertaker), Madison Couch (Sandy Dizinski – Reporter for the American Inquirer), Kenzie Mosberger (Cop #1 Pete), and Kaelynn Worley (Cop #2 Bernie).
