Students with disabilities who do not qualify for an individualized education program, as required by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and implementing provisions of the School Code, may qualify for services under Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 if the child (i) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, (ii) has a record of a physical or mental impairment, or (iii) is regarded as having a physical or mental impairment.

Student Extracurricular Activity


Any activity outside of the regular school day is considered an extra curricular activity by Grayville CUSD #1.

Students who wish to participate in extra curricular activities must complete a Code of Conduct, which also includes permission to screen for drugs and/or illegal substances.  The Code of Conduct can be found in the Student Handbook or obtained through the office or JH or HS AD, coaches and sponsors.  Only one Code of Conduct is required for students participating in multiple activities.  Please note coaches and sponsors may have additional guidelines and requirements over and above the guidelines and requirements of the Code of Conduct.

School Reach Contact Information

The School Reach program is a mass messaging system, which allows Grayville CUSD #1 to provide weekly updates and other pertinent information regarding your childs' school and activities by providing a phone call, text and/or email.  The system will leave a voicemail if you are unable to answer the call.  

SchoolReach has a Smartphone App which allows parents to update contact information quickly and securely using a Smartphone. Parents can also view and replay messages sent by School Reach.  

If you do not have a smartphone, and require a change of phone number or email address, please contact the appropriate District office to make changes.  It is important to keep us informed of changes so you will receive SchoolReach broadcasts from the district.

Grayville C.U.S.D. #1 Schools
Grayville Community Unit School District #1 is providing information to you concerning the asbestos
management plans required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). These plans are
available for your review upon request. A copy of the plans for all buildings is located in the Superintendent’s
Office, which is located at 728 West North Street, Grayville, Illinois 62844; telephone number (618) 375-7114.
Plans for individual schools are located in the main office of each building. The plans can be viewed by any
person during normal business hours of the particular school. Interested parties wishing to inquire about the
hours and times that the plans are available should call the telephone listed above.
The asbestos management plans provide information regarding six month inspections, third year re-inspections
and response actions.
